Craft of another kind

After being inspired by lots of lovely silhouette images on various blogs, most particularly this amazing lady (p.s. I want her basement!), I had to give it a go myself. Thankfully my little cherub obliged and I was able to get a great photo to use. I had it printed in 5 x 7 size and traced around his outline onto tracing paper and then put that onto black cardboard and cut carefully around. So from this:

To this:

The backing paper was found at a local scrapbooking shop. Oh my was I in heaven in the shop!! I've never seen so many beautiful papers. My mind was spinning; "how could I possibly use as many of these gorgeous papers as possible??" I've never got into scrapbooking ~ I actually love the idea of all those pretty papers and using photo's creatively but I don't particularly like the outcome! Now I'm thinking maybe I could satisfy my craving by making a few birthday cards...?? Hmmm...

  1. Gorgeous boy. I've seen these around and haven't thought I'd do it too, but it is a nice way to capture them at this age. May have to do it too. x
